Nine Day Step Out Of The Routine
Nine day stepping out of the routine–traveling. Â What did I notice in the exercise of travel? Â The time was long enough that I needed to be mindful. Â Fortunately, there was walking in the hills for the first two days and the following days, I went for a walk in the city of Calcutta morning and night (before and after the day in the car.) Â I always really enjoy exploring by walking new territory. Â It gives one a real sense of the details: Â sight, smells, and texture of the environment. Â A 30-60 minute walk twice a day helped to keep me limber from long hours in the car. Â Not being the driver was a big help/luxury too for having the freedom to shift positions or stretch.
The food plan was another part of the body plan. Â I always love trying new foods, but I still supplemented with fresh fruits, nuts, and healthy munchables. Â In the current lifestyle of a very simplistic menu, I am losing my desire/need to charge into foods that don’t satisfy supporting the health/wellness of my body. Â Sometimes it can be a trick to keep the digestion process running smoothly while traveling, so the snacks became the maintenance part of the food plan. Â One part of trying new foods is it often slows one down to taste and become aware of eating again.
The first day back at they gym, I did my full time plan of an hour, but I took it a little bit easy, so I wouldn’t strain anything and could replug into the more challenging body use. As part of my 30 day countdown to returning to California, I have added in the first 30 days of the Insanity Plan as a second workout. Â I was pleasantly surprised that what I have been already doing must be a useful amount, because the taped workout was much less challenging than my initial impression. Â Good news and a nice way to ring in the New Year.
Looking forward to what 2013 has in store! Â Happy New Year!
