Compromise

When I look at the list of Selfseeds and compare my contact with them on a regular schedule vs. a traveling schedule, compromise is the key word. Not a permanent state, but a temporary state. Maybe even diving deeper into the one’s I can stay in contact with. Nice to be aware of the complete garden of seeds even if I cannot tend to all of them. Creativity is another part of compromise–Selfseed Personalize 5.

1. Selfseeds Fitness:  Running an hour a day and adding 30 minutes to an hour with TapouT XT, P90X, ball, or Hip Hop Abs.  A big key to fitness is just doing something consistently.  I do a variety of programs to keep my mind and body engaged, but I carve out a regular amount of time, so I have a commitment to movement.  Noticing with the running that I need days not to run too.  Walking is a great substitute.  New muscles are being challenged and I am trying to be thoughtful instead of a warrior about developing the new program without injuries.  Listen to your body!

Selfseeds Nutrition:  Enjoying eating homemade, fresh food, no preservatives, no sugar, and new flavors.  I often don’t know what I am eating, but it tastes incredible, wholesome, and vegetarian.  My body is so loving this meal plan!  My snacks are still fruits, vegetables, nuts, and dried fruit. And PLENTY of water!

 7. Selfseeds Flexibility: stretching, range of motion, evenness, myofascial release.  The physical therapist gave me a lacrosse ball to roll on, so I could address knots and tight areas. A daily examination as new levels of fitness are added.  Meditating long hours  while sitting on the floor is increasing my range of flexibility–big time!

New Weight Distribution/Fitness Program

Cruising has created a new meaning to weight distribution while walking, running, sleeping, etc. It isn’t often that we are living off the land.  While out on the open seas, the waves have been escalated as we headed towards the southern tip of New Zealand.  Awesome to experience the diversity of nature, but running on the treadmill has taken on a new state of awareness. I see a new future in the fitness industry–put the cardio machines on an unstable platform that can be set on varying degrees of movement, so inner awareness, flexibility, weight distribution, fitness, balance, and more all rolled into one efficient work out. One other bonus to running/walking in one place for a long time is that I have spotted whales and dolphins.

One other aspect of wellness that I haven’t experienced, since living in Germany during the early 90’s is the sauna; a sauna that is truly hot and challenges fitness from another angle.  I am starting to remember that there was a conditioning process for withstanding the more extreme heat in a box, a great way to sweat out toxins, and more.  I have found that the sauna’s in the US are often luke-warm, but I can understand the conservative approach since there are risks to being “cooked.”
